Stranger Things is a supernatural horror online television series developed by the Duffer Brothers in the United States.1)

Stars

Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Cara Buono, and Matthew Modine are among the cast members.2)

Plot

The narrative revolves around the disappearance of a young child and a telekinetic girl who assists his pals in their search, while the kid's elder brother, mother, and the town police chief launch their own inquiries.3)

Setting

The show takes place in 1980s Indiana and is a tribute to 1980s pop culture, inspired and visually informed by the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Stephen King, and George Lucas, among others.4)

Premiere

On July 15, 2016, Netflix released the show.5)

Reception

Characterization, tempo, atmosphere, acting, soundtrack, direction, screenplay, and homages to 1980s genre films all garnered great feedback.6)

Millie Bobby Brown

For the show, Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) had to shave much of her hair. It was a terrible concept, as one might expect from an 11-year-old girl.7)

Charlize Theron

Millie agreed after the Duffers showed her how great Charlize Theron looked in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).8)

Millie E.T

The directors also told Millie that they wanted her performance to be similar to that of E.T.9)

Idea Test

They put their series concept to the test by making a phony trailer for the program from of excerpts from more than 25 movies.10)

Auditions

To discover their youthful leads, they auditioned 906 boys and 307 females.11)

Poster

Kyle Lambert designed the official poster for the series. It was produced in the manner of famed poster/album artwork creator Drew Struzan, who has created official posters for Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, E.T., and many more films.12)

Font

The font used for the credits and episode titles is the same as that seen in D&D source books.13)

Cujo

The state policeman on duty at the mortuary is reading Stephen King's “Cujo.” This is one of several references to the author's work in the program.14)

Caleb McClaughlin

Caleb McClaughlin, who plays Lucas, requested that he wear a camouflage headband for the performance. In the final three episodes, he may be seen wearing one.15)
