Sandra Annette Bullock is her full name.¹⁾

She was born on July 26, 1964, in Arlington, Virginia, to a family of musicians from Germany.²⁾

Her mother is Helga (Meyer), a German opera singer, and her father is John W. Bullock, an Alabama-based vocal teacher.³⁾

She has a son, Louis, and a daughter, Laila.⁴⁾

She earned an Academy Award for her performance as the lead in the 2009 picture The Blind Side.⁵⁾

In 2005, she married Jesse Gregory James, and the pair split in 2010.⁶⁾

Bullock’s role in the 1995 hit romantic comedy, While You Were Sleeping, was originally meant for Demi Moore.⁷⁾

Bullock rose to prominence after starring in the 1994 film Speed. “Everyone warned me I shouldn't do Speed,” she says to The Virginian-Pilot. “I mean, it seemed like I'd simply be 'the female,' but I've learned to do things instinctively”.⁸⁾

In 1998, she establishes her own production business, Fortis Films, with the assistance of her younger sister Gesine. She obtains a production agreement with Warner Bros. and goes on to create popular films such as Hope Floats, Two Weeks Notice, and Miss Congeniality.¹²⁾

Bullock co-starred in A Time to Kill with Matthew McConaughey, and they began dating. “I just looked at her and thought, Wow!” According to McConaughey, “But she has no idea how gorgeous she is or how much others admire her.” She's simply very consistent in everything“.¹³⁾
