Kendrick Lamar's full name is Kendrick Lamar Duckworth.¹⁾

Kendrick Lamar was born on June 17, 1987 in Compton, California.²⁾

On September 14, 2010, he released the video for “P&P 1.5,” a song off his first album Overly Dedicated that featured his Black Hippy collaborator Ab-Soul. On September 14, Lamar released Overly Dedicated to digital retailers through Top Dawg Entertainment, and on September 23, he made it available for free online.³⁾

Lamar played with Tech N9ne and Jay Rock on The Independent Grind tour during 2010.⁴⁾

In late 2009, he issued a self-titled extended play (EP). That same year, Lamar and his TDE labelmates Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q created Black Hippy, a hip hop supergroup.⁵⁾
