Quentin Tarantino

Before Directing

Tarantino was not born to be the famed director that he is today, but his interest with cinema has lasted a long time. Before directing Hollywood's biggest films, he worked as a video shop clerk in Manhattan Beach, California, named Video Archives.1)

10 Films?

For a filmmaker with as extensive a track record as Tarantino, you'd think he'd never stop. He has, however, stated that he intends to retire from directing after ten films. Given that Tarantino's ninth feature, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was released last year, he only has one more film planned.6)

Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez has long been a buddy and partner of Tarantino's. Tarantino and Rodriguez collaborated on the 2007 double-feature Grindhouse, and Tarantino plays a significant role in Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn.7)

Pulp Fiction Malibu

Tarantino's 1964 Chevelle Malibu was stolen in 1994 and recovered in 2013. In the film Pulp Fiction, John Travolta drove the automobile, but it was stolen from his driveway. It took police more than a decade to locate down the automobile, which was eventually returned to Tarantino.13)

According to Christopher Allen Nelson, who worked on the special effects for Kill Bill, more than 450 gallons of blood were used during production. As a result, it is Tarantino's deadliest picture to date.20)

Own Movie Theater

First Child

In addition, the couple welcomed their first child, a son called Leo. Leo, named after Pick's maternal grandpa, was born on February 22nd, 2020 as an Israeli citizen.24)

Samuel L. Jackson

Tarantino's most frequent collaborator is Samuel L Jackson, while Jackson's most frequent collaborator is Tarantino. In total, Jackson has appeared in six Tarantino films, as well as True Romance, which Tarantino wrote. Tarantino, according to Jackson, has taught him a lot, and the two have a natural relationship.25)

Sally Menke

Aside from acting talent, his genuine longest and best collaboration was editor Sally Menke. Menke had edited all seven of Tarantino's films before her death in 2011, which was obviously distressing for the filmmaker. Fred Raskin, the editor, has since taken up the editing tasks.26)

The renowned filmmaker despises biopics. Tarantino stated in an interview with The Talks that biopics are “simply enormous excuses for performers to win Oscars.” It's a tainted cinema“.28)

Tarantino was included to TIME magazine's list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in 2005. Tarantino's “teen-boy fixations – men with big guns, gorgeous ladies with terrible tongues – are a genuine tonic,” they wrote. He still has a movie infatuation as convulsive as a schoolboy's crush at 42, and he still has a young man's arrogance.”29)

Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Unsurprisingly, the iconic director has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tarantino was honored with the star on December 21st, 2015, a few weeks before the release of The Hateful Eight, with Samuel L. Jackson on hand to help with the presentation.30)
