Greenland is the largest island in the world. It lies between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Despite being a part of North America, it is culturally and politically associated with Europe. It is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. 1)
